Best Nachos in Yonkers. Wish they had a half-size portion though, sometimes I feel like the regular size is too big for just me to eat.

Amazing Mexican spot. 1) The cafe has a few booths for you to eat and enjoy a good lunch or breakfast. 2) I will recommend the Mexican steak with rice and beans. Both were fantastic. 3) The price and service were very reasonable. Just note, English is not their first language; so, make sure you point what you want on the menu if you can't speak Spanish. Or, your order might not be correct.

The prices are great, there are many options to choose from. It seems like this place specializes in breakfast and lunch. Even though it was only 10:30, I skipped over breakfast items and went straight for the tacos since it was what my heart desired. I was pleased to hear they serve lunch items like tacos and platters all day. Nothing beats tacos in the morning. I ordered the cecina, al pastor, and lengua tacos. I opted out of the extras like lettuce & tomatoes, since it already comes with guac, onions, and cilantro which are already good enough for me. These were tasty and flavorful, elevated even more with a squeeze of lime and a hit of that green sauce. They were filling and scrumptous. Alpha and omega. Bread and butter. Okay I think I need a nap, the itis is hitting me hard. So if youre looking for a meal thats cheap and fresh, just stop by and take a seat here.

So glad Poblano Cafe has reopened after the fire next door! The old sign still says "Luncheonette" and the place is a throwback counter-only with great Mexican in the center of Getty Square. The old photos of trolleys running through the Square add to the ambiance. They also serve breakfast and an early dinner -- same menu. My friends like the Tostadas but I prefer the great tacos. Carnitas, Pollos, etc. are all good. Service is fast and friendly; the window onto Main Street sees a lot of takeout action. So you don't even need to come inside. Prices are very reasonable.

The biggest thing food-wise I will miss about no longer working in Yonkers is Poblano Cafe. The manager there, Claudio, is a great guy. He's very nice and easy to talk too, even though he's super busy preparing people's tacos. If you chat with him, he'll teach you about the ingredients he uses and how he prepares his taco meats. As an update to my previous review, Poblano Cafe now has a menu (that doubles as its take out menu). The lengua is also listed on it. Their drinks are good too. I like the Jorchata and Mamey. Even though Poblano Cafe is a Mexican joint, they still kept many of the menu items that were found on the old hot dog stand's roster of items, including hot dogs, though I've never bothered to try them. I'm quite and completely satisfied with their tacos, especially the Arabe and Lengua! I still can't find an affordable taco place in Manhattan that is equally as good (Toloache doesn't count, it's too pricey)!

Seriously. This is the best taco dive I've ever been to. I've eaten here twice so far and both times was a transcendent experience. If you're looking for ambiance or anything like that, forget it. But if you just want some amazing, authentic tacos, guacamole, etc. then run to this place. You will not be disappointed.
